Every child deserves the chance to dance
For some families, cost can stand in the way of a first dance class. Two programs exist to remove that barrier: the Darlene Davenport Dance Legacy Scholarship and the Music in Motion Sponsorship Program.
For families
Darlene Davenport Dance Legacy Scholarship
Created to honor a legacy of passion, generosity and dedication to dance, this scholarship provides financial assistance to students who show talent, commitment and a desire to grow through dance but may lack the resources to pursue it. Each year donors make it possible to award scholarships to deserving students.
For sponsors
Music in Motion Sponsorship Program
Sponsor contributions let us cover tuition for students facing financial challenges, extend dance to foster communities and charitable organizations through outreach and performances, and maintain advanced training, guest artist workshops and quality facilities.
Past sponsorships have supported partnerships with Connect with a Wish, Dalton Fox Foundation, Mended Little Hearts of Coastal VA, and Hooked on Hope.
The Music in Motion Dance Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Every sponsorship and donation brings us closer to a community where every child feels valued and inspired through dance.
