Free Trial Class
New students have the opportunity to book a free trial dance class before registering. Free trial classes allow families to get a feel for our programs. Get ready to feel confident that you have made the best choice for your family!

Music in Motion first opened as “Kings Grant Dance Academy” in 1967. We are a multi-generational dance studio. Parents who danced here choose to bring their own children back!
When you register for a dance class, you not only get access to fun, healthy, and compassionate dance training; you become a part of our community.
Providing you with the support you need to be a confident dance parent is one of our top priorities. You'll immediately feel welcomed by the caring teachers and staff and you and your child will find many opportunities for connection!

Music in Motion
Music in Motion Dance Studio is an education-oriented dance school. Instructors care about the development of skills and place an emphasis on proper training for your student.
You'll notice immediately the positive teaching approach to all levels and capabilities. From our beginners to our pre-professional teens; everyone is deserving of programming that builds self-expression, creativity, & confidence!
Current studio owner Lauren Kelly took over ownership from her mother in 2016. When you join Music in Motion, you'll be a part of a long tradition of offering amazing dance education to the families in Virginia Beach!
