Music in Motion Dance Company

The Music in Motion Dance Company is for dancers ages 7+ that are looking for more performance opportunities. It includes our Company, Junior, and Mini Teams.

Our dance company is a 501c3 non-profit organization that conducts classes, workshops, and public performances to foster support for the art of dance. Our dancers learn to exhibit self-confidence, self-discipline, and community responsibility.

Company dancers perform throughout the season at local community events, nursing homes, hospitals, and regional competitions.

Our company dancers grow technically as performers, learn to work alongside their peers, and make lifelong friendships!

2022 Company Show Program

The Mini Team

The mini team is for dancers ages 6-8 that are looking to jump into competitive dance and participate in fun dance-related activities. The time and financial commitment to join are kept to a minimum and there is no audition to participate!

The Junior Team

The Junior Team is for dancers ages 9-14 who are excited about dance and want to work with new teachers and choreographers, meet new friends and perform on new stages. No auditions are required! Please contact the studio if you are interested in joining us.

The Company

The Company team is for experienced dancers ages 12+ who are committed to the art of dance. These dancers work hard while sharing their love of dance with the community. The Company Team is invite-only. New dancers should contact the studio about auditioning.

Hip Hop Team

The Hip Hop Team for dancers ages 10+ is a lower-commitment team that allows interested dancers to learn, rehearse, and perfect hip-hop routines. This COED company will perform at community events and competitions. Sign up below!

Requirements

The Company Team

Dancers on this team are required to enroll in 4 classes/week including Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical/Modern, Ballet and Flexibility, Leaps and Turns. We require students to commit to this class schedule at a minimum of 2 days of class per week.
Company team dancers are required to take dance year-round, including our 6 Week summer session.
Dancers are required to take a minimum of 10 hours of dance classes during the summer session.
Students on Company team are required to maintain at least 80% attendance throughout the season in class

The Junior Team

Dancers on the Junior team are required to enroll in Ballet, Junior Flexibility, Leaps and Turns, and 1 class of their choice (hip-hop, acro, modern, tap, jazz).
Junior Team dancers are required to take dance year-round.
Dancers are required to take a minimum of 6 hours/class over our summer session which is equal to enrolling in 1 class. This can be split among the classes/weeks that fit your summer schedule.

The Mini Team

Mini team dancers are required to take 1 class a week of their choice in a technique class (ballet, lyrical or jazz) plus 1 weekly rehearsal.
Dancers are welcomed and encouraged to take an additional class such as acro, hip-hop, tap or musical theatre as well.
Summer classes are not required for Mini Team dancers.

Performances:

Participate in 2 Parades; Neptune Festival and Beach Lights
Participate in TWO local dance competitions
Participate in a travel convention and competition
Perform in the Winter Company Showcase
Perform your "company dance" in the June Recital
Volunteer and charitable opportunities!

Auditions

The Company Team

An email invitation is required to join The Company Team. NEW dancers who are interested in performing with Music in Motion Dance Company can contact the studio for a placement audition. Auditions are held during the summer.

The Mini, Junior, and Hip Hop Team

No auditions are required for The Mini, Junior, and Hip Hop Team. If you have a dancer interested in joining, visit our Mini Team Sign Up, Junior Team, and Hip Hop Team sign-up pages.
